|
Description: |
Mainshaft and gears - look at that middle gear! The closest end of the mainshaft goes through the thrust washer and has a lefthand thread for the locknut, the furthest end is where the clutch mounts and is the input from the engine. The closest gear revolves freely on the shaft and is engaged by dogs for first gear. The middle gear is keyed to the shaft and moves up and down, engaging teeth with the layshaft middle gear for second gear. The furthest gear freely rotates and is the output of the gearbox that the sprocket attaches to. It is engaged by the middle gear dogs for third gear. |
