Description: |
This the BIV, ( Biscuits Infinitely Variable ignition timing for twins). The main body, fitted to the magneto shaft taper in the normal way has a large flange to the rear which locates on a recess in the modified gear. The central worm wheel is secured to the body with three 8BA bolts. The worm, 26 TPI, is secured to the gear by the brass bearings at either end. The gear is locked up by a substantial plate, held by the normal nut. To time the ignition the whole assembly is tightened on to the shaft with the piston at the requisite advance, rotating the worm via the tommy bar holes on the right slowly turns the magneto armature until the points start to open.
Is it worth it? Dunno, but it was interesting designing and making it!.

FJRIGJWWE9R1PIC_RATING:COMMENTS I’m very impressed. It must have taken a while to get it to it’s final development stage. It’s got to have been a worthwhile task. You must have a well sorted workshop
Good luck.
