Nice old pictutre, note the hi vis of the era, gauntlets. I seem to recall my gauntlets had a white strip on 2 fingers, so you had to be a bit carefull. LXF is 1950, LXX 1951 both London reg. no.

My next door neighbour was a "speed cop"-he used to sneak home regularly for I presume a cup of tea on an identical Triumph! He also had 2 Velos in his shed that I used to admire!

Superb machinery. Would love a pair of them there boots to use on my Speed Twin. fold the side of the cap down, put a toothbrush handle in the peek of the cap so its flat against the nose, sorted

the boots of them days of yore were probably ordinary army tupe ankle boots with high lace up leather gaiters,knew an old traffic man who wore them well into late ,70s
