another way to fix a worn out chaincase seal is to drill out the three spoy welds , fit a new felt seal , and use pop rivets to refit . this can be redone ad infinium !

Good article, particularly about the filter, I have all the symptoms and will try Ivors cure. However, the plug thing can be overcome easily with a second plug washer.
