There is a misconception that multigrade oils such as 20/50 actually get heavier (higher viscosity) when hot. This is impossible physics. Compare the thickness of a 50 grade with hot 20/50. The oils are designed to simulate the heavier vicosity oil & give a higher pressure rating when hot & they do this remarkably well. A 20 grade oil cannot get any heavier.
