Re: Can any body tell me were I can get nee tank rubbers for
Hi
I got a set for my 61 G3 from AMC Classic Spares - on Steve's advice I opted for the rather expensive ones, glad I did in the end as the fit is excellent. I've seen plenty of reports saying the fit of others is poor.
Regards Mick

Re: Can any body tell me were I can get nee tank rubbers for
Hi Tom
They were over £50 but I decided to pay the money as they are highly visible and a poor fit would be obvious, especially as I have the chrome panels on my tank.
Hopefully they're a one time purchase.

They are for an AJS, and a much older model.

Re: Can any body tell me were I can get nee tank rubbers for
I bought some "cheap" Ebay jobs for about ~£12 - The fit was absolutely terrible.
I lashed out and paid about £50 a pair from the chap at Stafford - think his name might be "The Rubber Man" but I wouldn't swear to it. The fit was much better and worth the cash (ships, ha'p'orths of tar and all that).
The essential difference is that the cheap (and totally useless) ones are moulded in the flat, the expensive ones are moulded on a vertical curve to (almost) match the tank shape.
I have a pair of flat AJS ones I'm prepared to let go for only £12. Form an orderly queue ......
Even though you are doing an excellent job of putting anyone off purchasing your flat knee rubbers please don't advertise on the forum except in the space set aside for it. Advertising Editor.
