Hey cbranni how were those connected to the tank?

Thanks for the update. Are those tank connectors metal and slip right over the metal pipes on the tank itself, or is there a rubber piece in between?

I use neoprene and jubilee clips although I'm certain that jubilees aren't original if that's important.

The actual connections are rubber tube, but the ends of the copper pipe have sleeves soldered on to equal the size of the steel pipes coming out of the tank.

Was there any kind of farrell on each side of that rubber hose crimped on?

Also, I think what I'm going to do is use 3/8 copper piping normally used for air compressors / refrigerators and have my machinist friend make up the BSP threaded compression nuts. This stuff isn't super easy to bend to shape but does bend pretty well and can be had for less than £10 over here at the big box store.

I'll document my build and forming process on my build thread.

I use very thick "rubber" hose from Jampot Spares and jubilee clips, been on for ages

I also use a mix of copper spigots and rubber hose. I don't suppose it's 'correct' but neither do I care as I'm not into 'showing' bikes. Reliability is my priority and it has been fine for more than ten years.

(Don't be confused by the red lever just visible at the bottom of the first photo. It was an anti-wet sumping valve which I removed long ago as it was unnecessary. Oh, and the cracked mudguard has been sorted as well ).
