Tony Cooper in Halesowen, West Midlands is highly recommended for the rebuilding of magnetos (and dynamos).
Restored my Lucas N1 to as new condition for a sensible price with a ten day turn around.
He has literally hundreds of magnetos in stock as well.

+2 for Tony Cooper. He did my K2F mag and E3L dynamo about 4 years ago. Still both running perfectly.

Re: Tony Cooper the Magnetoman
Is Tony Cooper still in business? I saw another thread on the Forum, from 2022, saying he has retired and sold the business.
If he's no longer trading who else is recommended?

Re: Tony Cooper the Magnetoman
He restored a magneto for me a couple of months ago and was still very busy with his business and bike collection.
You may be confusing him with Dave Lindley who advertised on the font page of OBM for many years. He has retired and moved from Leominster to the Isle of Man

Thanks for the confirmation poplargreg, good to know, I will contact him.
It was this post I read that led to the confusion:

EDIT - Alpha Bearings told me today that Tony Cooper has retired and sold the business. Forgotten who to but apparently they will just be selling of stock not taking on new work. This in the last couple of weeks or so. - JB

Re: Tony Cooper the Magnetoman
I'm a bit late to the party on this. I'm staggered but pleased to hear Tony Cooper is still working his magic. When he overhauled my Lucas N1 magneto 15-20 years ago, it was "pay me when you're happy with it". I was happy and paid PDQ. I was surprised anyone had a business model like that even then.
Alpha Bearings: I had assumed the business folded after Max Nightingale's death. Seems I was wrong! I still have paperwork and correspondence from Max at Alpha when they 'did' the big end on my 18S shortly after I'd bought it. Cracked flywheel found. The late Tony Surbey supplied me with a pre-loved crank-assembly which Alpha cannibalised and returned to me an overhauled crankshaft and rod up along with all the scrap.
