FJRIGJWWE9R1PIC_RATING:COMMENTS VERY nice job you have made, congratulations, (though if you are taking it off-road you will need to raise that gearlever)

FJRIGJWWE9R1PIC_RATING:COMMENTS Hi Folks, thanks for the comments. I bought this bike off a lad at school back in about 1973! It was totally original back then and I’ve managed to keep hold of all the bits when I was using it for pre 65 trials. So, the gear change is the original one - but was raised for trials use. The only other non-original bits are the chrome rims which should have been painted silver and the seat springs which should be black. The kick start has too much offset but was all I could get at the time. Fork gaiters are Triumph and have perished already (ebay...!) I’ve also changed the cup and cones for ball race bearings. Machined the new shaft to fit the bearings but kept the cycle threads for the nuts. Also added proper seals, but you’d have to be really on the ball to spot this mod!! Paint was matched to original inside hubs - not the usual James red! Racking my brains to remember if the tank centre trim was chrome or not, some where.....
