I was out for a ride, taking advantage of a nice autumn day and thought our local AA box would make an interesting backdrop for a photo. I’m pleased to say, I didn’t need the AA.
At one time, decades ago when mobile phones were just science fiction, there were 925 such boxes throughout the UK. This one, number 161, Nantyffin, is located at the A40/A479 junction, just west of the town of Crickhowell, Brecnockshire, s.e. Wales. It has been here since 1960 and is one of only 21 remaining in their original locations throughout the UK, only three of which are in Wales. The river Usk can be seen in the background.
The first image includes an uncropped and a cropped version. Your acknowledgement and any feedback would be most welcome if you have time... All the best, Chris Moreton (membership number 2021/71087) |
