FJRIGJWWE9R1PIC_RATING:COMMENTS It is always so nice to see a real original - bikes like this must now be in short supply ! - that seat may be the one fitted by the maker and that tank has the beautiful curves of the original Plumstead applied Gold lining...seems to have acquired a Burman GB box at some stage - I wonder how the shock absorbing is done...clutch or crankshaft ?....

FJRIGJWWE9R1PIC_RATING:COMMENTS Thanks for the comments guys.
From what I can gather, this bike is an early 58 model year, i.e. built Autumn of 57. I’ve read that the factory were still using up the old Burman boxes before going over to the AMC’s on early 58 bikes. Once I’ve got the dating certificate I’ll know better.
She’s certainly an unmolested example retaining its original number which hasn’t been robbed off the bike!!!!
Good Riding.

FJRIGJWWE9R1PIC_RATING:COMMENTS Wait for the dating cert but I think the AMC gearbox came in 56/7 not 57/8. Great patina though and if the gearbox has been changed consider it part of the bikes history.
