This is my cylinder head which has been faced several times untill... I think, untill this head looses his or her strength. This head got a leaking inlet valve with out anything being wrong with the valve and guide. It seems that the valve goes slightly excentric on the seat. Checked by a feeler gauge. (0.002mm) Compression was fading after a 200km ride. My question is can somebody tell me that he or she has experienced the same and how much has been faced from the head through the years. see picture |

FJRIGJWWE9R1PIC_RATING:COMMENTS If only the valve is eccentric, why not simply buy a new valve and have that ground in? Not very expensive and a permanent solution? I have no answer to your other question.

FJRIGJWWE9R1PIC_RATING:COMMENTS Should be no need to keep skimming the head, you will lose the fire -wall recess depth. As TommoT says fit new valve and RE-CUT the seat.

FJRIGJWWE9R1PIC_RATING:COMMENTS Write or wrong, I grind mine, barrel and head faces, after a short time you’ll soon see low/high spots< I prefer to do this insted of scratching and scrapping surfaces.
