1968 Matchless G15CSR |

Description: |
The bike is a 1968 export Matchless G15CSR street scrambler that I bought back in December 1970, from Coburn & Hughes of Haringey. It has now been totally restored.
It was one of a batch on only 95 machines made and dispatched from Plumstead, by the then Norton Matchless division. In the original log book it was listed as a Norton Matchless G15CSR, street scrambler. It was due for export to Berliner, but it was redirected to Elite Motors, of Garret Lane, Tooting South London, in November 1969, and then sold by them in January 1970, as a new bike. It must have been in storage in the Woolwich Arsenal for nearly three years, as the fork stanchions had a rust ring on them when I dismantled them.
I hope to be able to ride it to the Ace Cafe’s AMC day in July 2010 with my friend on his 1964 Norton N15CS.
