You could say I’m a tad biased but I think the ’55 heavyweight models are just about the best lookers. Its that mixture of styles. Kidney shaped toolboxes, quirky shaped oil tank and that strange little up turn on the end of the chain guard. All styling clues to their rigid frame ancestry but when mixed with the jampots, the full width hubs and those dinky little sidelights I think they are great. |

FJRIGJWWE9R1PIC_RATING:COMMENTS I couldn’t agree more - mine is a ’57 which I love but I think this model has a tad more character

FJRIGJWWE9R1PIC_RATING:COMMENTS If you dipped the whole thing in a tank of Nitromors, hand-painted the tank in red oxide and the rest in grey primer, it would look similar to the 55 G3LS I had (it was MOT’d and running!)

FJRIGJWWE9R1PIC_RATING:COMMENTS I have to agree my 54 A.J.S. 16M does not have your full width rear hub but I still think that it is one of the best looking road bikes of all time. After lots of fettling I have last got it to ride as good as it looks.
