FJRIGJWWE9R1PIC_RATING:COMMENTS Looks radical, but undoubtedly necessary. JP’s are always way heavier than standard. But did you also check the pin for lack of taper?

FJRIGJWWE9R1PIC_RATING:COMMENTS put it on the shelf , safer there than inside your engine . Talk to Stuart Tongue if you want to go faster .

FJRIGJWWE9R1PIC_RATING:COMMENTS I think this is what was done for a racing mod to lighten the piston in bygone years, you could buy them in this form new I think and think there were called slipper pistons.

FJRIGJWWE9R1PIC_RATING:COMMENTS Most interesting. I understand that this piston belongs to a Ariel 500cc Red Hunter and that the lightening has been very worthwhile.
The bike has covered 7000+ miles since the work was done, I don’t think it has an easy time either! on long distance trials.
