Headlight spacers
I don't think there are any spacers on the road model. The comp models have 6" headlights, so a spacer is needed on those. The road models have sidelights which hold the headlight on, and have rubber grommets to neaten the join.

Headlight spacers
Yes, spacers are definitely needed! On my 1956 G80S the headlamp will rub on the brackets if fitted without spacers. My G80S was originally a basket case, and of course these spacers were missing. I made a pair of spacers just wide enough keep the lamp from touching the bracket. If the original side lamps are fitted, you can't make the too wide, or there will not be enough thread left to fit a nut inside the lamp.
