1952 spares book??
Evening all,
Short and sweet (maybe!). Ok it's late and I may be missing the wood for the trees......but, I've looked on Christians Archives and cannot see a 1952 Ajs 18s spares book. Is there a simple reason (same as 1951 for example). Anyone know where I could source one please?
Thanks

Not sure for your 18s, but for my late '51 G3, 1951-52 seems mostly the same, but with a few significant differences (e.g. clutch then gearbox changing from CP to Burman) to catch you out.
There are '51 and '53 spares lists on Christians Archives, so maybe compare the two to identify what might have changed in the interim '52 period?

1952 spares book??
Surely you can use the 1952 Matchless singles spares list? All the main part numbers will be the same. Only the badges etc are different. Dave

1952 spares book??
Fraid I sold a copy at the jampot this year and failed to scan it first so I could send it to Christian. The 1952 matchless spares list for singles is on the Archive though and it will have pretty much the same parts (except innner and outer timing covers?)

1952 spares book??
There is a very simple reason.
TIME, It could take a few hours per book.
To scan, edit upload etc. If you have the book. If you look elsewhere, you will discover there was a 1952 spares book for singles and one for the model 20. Look also for service sheets, some of these tell of mid year changes and mods etc. Just looking at the spares books is not 100% what you may find on your bike. You could quite easy discover something on your bike that does not agree with the spares list but is correct, because it got changed after the book was printed, or, the erretta for the book got lost, as this usualy came as a loose insert. The spares list is not the bible, it contains errors and does not have modifictions. Also 50 years later, the bike cannot be considered 100% correct.

1952 spares book??
Thanks all.
I have downloaded the '52 Matchless spares book but knowing how AMC are all the same (except for all the tiny changes they made all the time) I thought I should get as close to the 'bone' as possible.
If I find one I shall see if Christian is interested.

1952 spares book??
Thought I had the full 50'ies covered
1952 Matchless will do best until I find a 1952 AJS to add, otherwise there is the Master Spares Lists to go with if you fear something is missing.
Next upload is scheduled between Christmas and New Year when I have enough days off to get around it. Loads from Rob to be added, mainly pre-war stuff.
