This was mentioned in a thread a week or so ago but I can't seem to find it. Just finished at £896.50! Makes me think that my project was a bargain.

Seller of this bike is a wealthy semi dealer in expensive bikes on A N Other bike site who has been hyping a lot of scrap from a find on the IoW.
What can be salvaged from that pile of salt ravaged scrap is anyones guess.
Still it shows there are still fools with money to be parted from.
(unless anyone from this forum bought it when I have to say I admire their resolve and optimism]

Yep, the seller's day job is an opthalmologist at SpecSavers (absolute truth!). You couldn't make it up, and I haven't!
I've seen photos of his hoard of a dozen or more precision scrap assemblies, plus assorted incomplete engines etc., on A N Other website.
Frankly, I have great admiration for those with the patience to grovel about in clouds of rust dust restoring these things. My patience extends, just, to putting a coat of Hammerite on the garden gate.

Only a true enthusiast would pay more than double the guide price for a '59 G9, even if it did grow up to become a G12 ! Was the rear wheel included?
Might be a sleeping beauty, though, and will be company for Trusty Rusty.
Best regards.
