runs and sparks well on near side, but misses with intermitten spark on off side,

Do you have the leads running inside the manifold? Maybe one of them is tracking to earth intermittently?Check it out in the dark while it's running.

Inlet port obstruction on one side

It only needs a small ridge or part of a gasket sticking out into the airflow to ruin the fuel atomisation for that cylinder ...

The last inlet obstruction i witnessed was on a Matchy twin with rag left inside it! Took a while to diagnose that one until we noticed some scraps of material down the plug hole! He forgot to remove it when he bolted the manifold on!

I used to have this problem on my Model 30. I found the trick is to adjust the advance/retard lever and then the other cylinder chimed in. After that, I just left the lever in the position it liked & all was well.Edited by - OLD SHEP on 24 Oct 2011 3:27:23 PM
