Hi, I am looking for advice on the bearings on the drive side of a 1960 G3LS. I am replacing these bearings and my factory manual states in highlighted text that the outside (Chaincase side), RLS8 bearing should be a C3 fit. The inner RMS8 does not have a fit mentioned so I assume it is a standard clearance bearing. The bearing supplier I use said it was unusual to have two different fits next to each other. Can anyone tell me which is correct for these bearings? What have other members fitted and are any mods. ie an outer sheilded bearing advisable.
Thanks for any help, LynP

Use C3 fit on any bearing inside an engine; you may have to hunt around to find them, try and stay awy from far eastern made bearings.
C3 is not the really fitting clearance but the
running clearance
