Hey, my first post so fingers crossed.
I’ve got a ’60 G12 De-luxe in black with chrome side panels on the tank. Does anybody know how to get the the chrome side panels off. I’m trying to fit new red rubber liner round the edge. I’m trying to fit the rubber ‘in situ’ on the tank, however its proving a bit tricky, cant find any fasteners that would secure the chrome panel on.
Could anyone advise me on how to remove the chrome panels?
Many thanks
Ben

I believe the chrome panels are held on by the tank badges & their screws at the front and the knee rubber backing plates and their screws at the rear. I'm sure someone will confirm later.

i agree, thats what should be there.
You just might find something extra just to make things a little exciting. 50 years of crud and polish. Take care of the panels, their expensive

Hey,
Cheers for the tips guys. As soon as I peeled away the rubber knee pads it all became clear.
Tank polished, chrome revitalised, new rubber and badges fitted!
Cheers
