Treated the old girl to an oil change today. Even read the manual which makes reference to a mesh filter in the oil tank. Mine is a 61 model with the slab sided tank and I cannot see any sign of a filter, just a drain plug. Am I missing something?

G3 Oil Filter?
The mesh filter, if fitted, is pushed up into the supply oil pipe of the tank. A flange soldered to the bottom end prevents it from pushing up too far. I have known of these to get stuck in the oil hose. Cheers, Don.

G3 Oil Filter?
Don,
Would that be part number 015198 in the Jampot spares book. I thought it was along bolt when I first looked it up?
Should have asked before I put the fresh oil in the tank. doh

Yes, that would be it. When you change oil, pull the "magnetic filter", part of the drain plug, from the sump & clean it too. Cheers, Don.
