Engine Number 8000

I was looking at an engine spares list today and some were listed as for pre 8000 engines and some for post 8000. Whilst I believe I have a 1948 engine I do not have any credible number for it.

Can anyone enlighten me on the differences so that I can confirm what engine I have and what spares I should order.
