Before i start looking in the wrong place any techie leckie guys advise me where to look.
My G3 I have full beam headlight and pilot lights with brake light all working fine, but no dipped headlight and no rear light.
so far all i have done is proven continuity between front and rear wiring between the headlight and rear light, and changed bulbs front and rear.
My next step was to strip and clean light switch contacts.
Probably be quicker to rewire completely.

Depends how crappy the exhisting wires are? Some clot has obviously got the switching positions wrong.Easy for me to say!If you wired it then just ignore me.There's plenty of complete wiring diagrams around, just google.

Thanks Doug, all original, the guy who fitted it in 1957 could be in his early 70's now, presuming he started work at 14.
Thinking about it he would probably have done an apprenticeship and could be in his late 70's.
Someone on this forum may even put a name in the frame?.
When Britain had something to be proud of eh!!!

If your main beam is working then you are getting power from the light switch to the dip switch. You need to check the contacts in the dip switch and the low beam wiring back to the headlamp and of course the bulb!
With your front side lamp working, again it indicates your light switch is OK.
Check the continuity for both circuits and the bulbs.
With the brake light working it indicates that there is no earthing problem.
