G11 CSR lubricants
Wondered if anyone can advise on grade of engine oil and gearbox oil for twins. Ps i've been hunting for the oil filter .Understand there's a small mesh jobby inside the outlet on the tank not sure where the main filter is.

John , you are welcome to come round and i'll show you the filter etc.. on my G11
I'd use SAE 50 in the summer and SAE 49 in the winter if I use it alot
Best you download G11 handbook from the following address . what year did you get ?

Peter thanks for the advice on oil. will take you up on the offer it'd help to have some pointers. Might be able to get over at the weekend likely to be Sunday if thats good for you.Ta for the G11 Manual .

Peter sorry forgot its a 58 model came back from the USA in 88 when it was first registered in the uk

It's a slightly thinner oil than SAE 50 Sam, mainly used in oilcans.

You can make your own by
Taking 49Fluid ouces of SAE 50
Adding 1 Fluid ounce of SAE 40.
Do take care when mixing !!!!!!!!!!!!
You must put the SAE 50 in First.
Ride with Care and Live Long

Halfords sell a 20/50 classic oil, it has little or no detergent in it.
