1940 G3 GIRDER FORKS

Post by IANFAIRHEAD »

I have a spares list for my incomplete set of 1940 G3 girder forks but it is not illustrated. Could any member please provide me with or let me know where I could obtain an "exploded diagram" or other illustration showing the location of the multitude of parts. In particular, where are the 8 "packing washer for fork spindles" UF - STD - 167 fitted? Are they hardened or plain mild steel? How thick are they? Also, the spares list shows 7 "lock nuts for fork spindles" CF - STD - 1 and one "Nut locating damper steel plates" CF - STD - 617 . How is this one nut different from the other 7? Many thanks. A member of the Yahoo AJS&M forum, Simon Warner (smwarner), has posted that he offers replacement damping discs for the girders that he has made. He undoubtably knows a lot about them. Go to that group, (autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Ajsmatchless/) & join to access the list. You can then post your questions & comments. Lots of info, too, as it is this group that established Christian's Archives. Cheers, Don.

Hi

I think its very short sighted of this Club to be only Post-war (but what do I know/care ?)

Regards.

Its not at all, its just that there is another group dedicated soley to WD and pre-war which tends to concentrate all the pre war info in one place, as there ae very few, relatively, pre war AMC about.

AJS & Matchless: Groups, Clubs, Pre-war, Post-war, WD, , Archives etc etc its all very fragmented. I don’t mind in fact I like but….rather confusing for the novice .......I’ll get my coat.......

Kind regards
