Neil,

How long have you been riding these bikes before checking the tire pressures ?

I run a combination, the pressures are much higher, 24-30. I cannot find the solo figures in my books.

Thankyou AJSNUT

Unlike a car, the preasures on a bike are more dependant on the weight of the rider. At 18st I find 22 f and 28 r best on my 18S. Anything less and its like riding through custard.

Modern tires have more complient sidewalls & need more pressure. If you are running the old tires that the manuals are written for, they will be so stiff & hard by now, no air will be needed. Cheers, Don.

Yes i'm running my thirty year old tires with no air. I never have to check!!! I run my tyres until they're bald to get my monies worth!

My B*A 441 had been sitting for awhile, neglected, until I got around to sorting out the starting problems. I was so excited when it started that I took it for a test ride. I thought the handling a little strange, but after all it isn't a Matchy, is it? The tire guage showed zero pressure in both of the ancient tires but they are so hard they hold to bike up even when I am sitting on it. Cheers, Don.
