Hi,
I've recently within the last six months purchased a nice 1955 model 20 and am now getting to know it's nuiances. I have had British bikes since I was 17 (I'm now approaching 41), so their usual issues aren't really a problem. However, I am drawing a blank on trying to seal the pressed steel primary chain inspection cover in way of the atachment bolt with the spring steel fixing plate, mine leaks via the hole for the bolt!
Ideas on a postcard etc!

put a fibre washer under the head.
the steel strip is not spring steel but if it has been overtightened and has more of a bend as most have been, it is worth renewing it

Thanks for the advice itma, Simple solution but still frustrating trying to cure! I'll buy a new steel strip as I suspect it may have been overtightened some time in it's past
