Roadholder problem.
Hi
I wanted to replace the fork oil in my G12-1965 (Roadholder forks)
It was easy to drain the right leg, but nothing came from the left leg.
To make sure it was hole through I filled it with fork oil, but nothing is coming out!
Tried with compressed air,-no result.
Any ideas, or do I have to dismantle?
The bike has been standing still for 20 years.
Regards
Ib

Yes another one of those biting stinging beastly insects down here! They always find cosy places to live like chainsaw and brushcutter mufflers which block them up solid causing mysterious non starting.

I finally bought myself a full face bonce protector after suffering years of cold rain etc stinging my face and catching all manner of insects inside the old open face. I find the bike has suddenly got a lot quieter as well.
PS.Whilst on the subject of forks,Anybody know where I can get hold of a pair of reasonable fork sliders for a '59 AJS 31.

Problem solved.
After soaking in oil for 24 hours and pumping up and down with no drain plug, the oil came out all over my workshop. - must have been a whasp.
Rode 200 miles saturday and everything works and the oil stayed inside.

It can be very unsettling to find yourself sharing a full-face helmet with a bee!!!
Been there, done that--

Went on a long ride Saturday. It was warm so was wearing my short summer gloves & a bee blew up my jacket sleeve. It died, but not before leaving me a reminder. The stinger, of course, was still in my arm pumping away when I stopped & remove the jacket. Still, better than a wasp. Cheers, Don.
