The easiest way is using a factory contraption legs are in or out in seconds.you can borrow it but you'll have to come and fetch it yourself dave,

Remember when putting the forkleg back into the yoke to ensure that surfaces are clean and rust free. This will make future operations in this area a lot easier. Apply a good dab of "Never Seez" it will help keeping rust and corrosion at bay. The name of this substance is not a joke, it is a really good product by, I think, Permatex or Permalock.

23b is an old pushrod from a single, with the adjuster removed. It then screws onto the end of the damper rod assembly so that you can pull it up and then screw onto top nuts. tune in next week for tool number 25c.

Whats wrong with a piece of wire?
I dont have a spare pushrod, but I could always take the head off to borrow one.
I hope tool number 25c details will be forthcoming before I complete the service :)
Is there a "useful tips" section on the site?

nothing wrong with wire its just easier with an old rod.If you send me a couple of stamps i'll pop one in the post once used you'll be amazed at this old guard tip. PM your address if you want one.

I own service tool 23b mk.II Its a piece of string about 2 foot long
