Can't think of anyone I've never met whose wit and wisdom I could miss more. Not just the replies here, but the spot-on responses in PMs too - the best help anyone could ever hope for, and so generously given. What a great sadness.

I have only been a member of this club for about 5 months but I have been following the news of Alans illness and am very sad to hear of this development. I only wish that I had had the opportunity to meet him personally. I can see that he will be greatly missed and not only for his expertise and knowledge but also his qualities as a warm and generous man. I feel he is going to leave behind a pair of boots that are going to be hard to fill.

Alan Jacobs will be very much missed by me even though I never met him.
He is an engineer of the old school, I wish I could have been taught by him.
Very sad news indeed especially after it looked as if he was making good progress.

I know I've only posted a few times and never met Alan, but my prayers are with him & his family.
It's obvious that he is a very genuine and wonderful friend to many of you - a rare quality indeed these days.
God bless.

Really can't express my feelings. Very sad. Strange how affinities can be built up in the cyber world, but this Forum is that way, and Biscuit IS one of the easiest to build affinity with even though know him only through his postings here. My prayers with Alan and his family. Naozar R Garda, Bangalore, India.

He has already been missed because of his illness, it seems so sad that we will no longer see his posts entering this forum. Our thoughts and prayers go to him and his family.
