G3 Model
Frnds,
I have a Matchless 1959 G3 model.
I really luv it and im gonna work on restarting it soon.
Bt as we knw there were many models of G3 made!
Eg..
1. Made for d military,
2. Thn world war times,
3. & sum unique 48 models made for d firemen in england!
The Most Popular G3 bike is originally black in colour,But i hav 1 with chrome platings on both the sides of the fuel tank,And many other places, secondly it has dammpners for the front fork etc etc...
So my prob is i tried searching for similiar pics of my bike bt dint get em on net!
Just got green military bikes in G3 or the normal Black G3's !
So can u assume or Help me find out my batch of G3(sum info) guys which batch was my bike made in G3.
Thanks ....

From 1958 the machine colour was brightened up a little. Black was still the standard colour but there was an option to have chrome petrol tank panels and red for matchless and blue for AJS.
If you look at photos on this site, then look at road models there is a photo of the AJS version on page 6 "1958 AJS 16MS" and on page 7 "1960? AJS". These are probably similar to your bike.
I can search the factory records for details of your bike. Details are on this site under club, then machine dating.
The records should show:
Make
Model
If the frame and engine numbers match
gearbox number
Test date
Tester
Dispatch date
Dealer/destination
Destination address
Any modifications
Sometimes not all of the details are entered.
