How come most workers look so old in these films? Did they age very quickly in those "Dickension" factories?

Sadly, Alan, maybe it's because a whole tranche of the younger ones never came back from defending our freedom and families.
Hence, perhaps, the young lady doing the welding.
I've just finished reading the autobiography of a WW11 Lancaster pilot. It puts credit crunch worries into the shade.

Wilko, pin striping by hand is still done in India, though nowadays even here it's losing ground to more 'modern' ways!!
