Hello there Jampotters;
I am writing a book called The Cafe Racer Phenomenon for Veloce in 2009 and wanted to get some personal memories form those who modified their bikes, rode them pretty fast or just enjoyed the cafe scene of the ealry 60s/70s.
If anyone can help by having a chat for 10 mins or so, then please ask them to get in touch with me; alastairw100@hotmail.com
All the best

Cafe Racers memories wanted!
Hi Alistair,
Although I now live in the US, I grew up in the 50's/60's/70's in the Midlands. I now restore British bikes that you couldn't give away back then! If you care to send me your E-Mail address I can give my thoughts & memories of the crazy "rocker" years. (A Gold Star story immediately springs to mind). Regards, Brian.
