Just a thought, what happens should members decide to go to the International after the booking closing date at the end of November, say January or February or later, or even decide to go without booking? Do they get turned away at the gate?

I read it as meaning that all participants must have booked by the end of November or they can't go. Otherwise many people could wait until near the date to decide and there wouldn't be enough deposits to pay for the venue. If that happened there would be no rally.

So to sum it all up:

1. The rally will only take place if enough deposits by November.
2. Rally fee is all inclusive, eat the food drink the wine or dump it.
3. Deposits will not be refunded.
4. Late bookings will not be accepted.
5. Name changes on bookings not accepted.
6. Tents, campers and vans are charged the same fee.
7. Day visits not allowed.

I have tried to sort of sum up a "worst case scenario", so if Roy could confirm or deny any of above it would clear up a few concerns.

Having re-read Roy's clarification post, the argument to include meals is that it's difficult to distinguish between participants who have paid for food and those who have not. This can't really be an argument, this has been handled easily at every IJR I have been to. Either by issuing tickets or wristbands. I am not trying to make a lot of trouble, just trying to clarify. If these are the terms, then so be it.

I will try to answer as much as I can.

1 We can only get exclusive use if we book the site with the mentioned
deposit and we do not wish to share the site with someone else do we?
2 Yes all-inclusive.
3 Deposits cannot be refunded but could be transferable.
4 Late bookings, well if we don’t get the deposit then we can’t book the site.
5 As three above
6 Two-price bands Accommodation and Camping i.e. Tents, Vans, Motor homes or
any other form of Camping.
7 Day visitors are currently being looked into.

As for the meals is the same as half board holidays are there if you want it
and you have to pay for it. At Poland the rally fee was one price whether
you turned up on Thursday or Saturday. The site owners will only host the
Rally on these conditions. This will be discussed at the next committee
meeting on the 12th. If there were not enough bookings by November then the
Club would have to pay the deposit if we want to go ahead. I hope this helps
you all.

Having read the entire forum, I would like to make the follwing comments.
1) The site owners have stipulated that all particpants should pay for meals, I know that this will not be acceptable to some members, but it is the only way to ensure that everyone who eats has paid. It was noted that in Poland although Chris Rotta issued everyone with tags for breakfast etc. the hotel staff did not collect them at breakfast on the first day, therefore those who had not paid could have eaten for free! A ticket system would also be difficult to administrate with the numbers involved.
2) Tents and campervans, most participants will have camped on the journey, many I am sure will welcome a room for 3 nights for a small increase in the cost.
3) Food and drink, as most know Italy has some of the best food in the world, La Torretta has indicated that their menus will be traditional, however we were assured that there will be no fish or seafood. When Roy, Malcolm, Sergio and myself visited in early September, the meal they gave us was typical and of excellent quality!
For the other queries Roy has answered most of these.
Due to my error the email address for Sergio Gavoni printed in the October Jampot is wrong it should be 'sergavoni@libero.it'

The deposit system is obviously not a problem to all as the first one has just arrived. Thank you Mr & Mrs Rogers.

Thank you for the answers, I think that pretty much sums it up. Now we all know why, when, how much and for what we pay. Then it's decision time! And also thank you for taking the trouble to set it all up.
