Does anybody know if the the frame on a 1953 AJS 16MS is suitable for a foam double saddle and a single sprung saddle? .not at the same time of course.

For the single saddle there should be obvious mounting points on the upper rear rails and on the top main tube. You can mount the double seat on any year for the roadsters.They may have dropped the single saddle by '53, not sure. Dugless

According to the Bacon restoration book, there was a dualseat in 53. Strange - another food reference.

ok ok no I cant imagine two noblemen fighting to the death armed only with the seat from a Matchless G3L.
