I take it you were not wartching tele all weekend then?
If I were you I`d not blast this now, you`ll get a better finish at the stovers.

when its blasted, according to what blaster you use it will have a surface somewhat pitted; it is the preparation of this and associated filling etc which costs money.
If it is totally rust free and clean you ought to get it painted as it is. You will have noted as you got though the original layers of enamel, that there was no primer coat?
It has to be 100% rust free of course.Edited by - itma on 05 Nov 2007 8:34:42 PM

When you come to fitting the swinging arm, you will find it the devils own job to fit the felt 'seals'.

I spent along time mulling over this and finally found the solution.

Dampen them slightly and clamp them between two pieces of wood or metal and stick then in the freezer for a couple of hours, you need to place pieces of paper between the boards and the felts, as well as between each other. They stay thin long enough to be fitted easily.

Lightweight owners, don't bother telling us how easy it is, your swinging arms are completely different.

If it has been exposed to damp conditions, or even fingers touching the product, the best way is to have it sand blasted, and have the blaster prime it right away.

Well what ever you decide to do you should get the lawnmower out.

And all those weeds on the path.
