Can anyone please give me any infomation on my motorbike.

Its a 1939 Matchless Trials Bike aka Aggie. I was told by the person who i bought it off it had trials history so im trying to get some old pictures of her in action and any results!
The Reg is NSJ 857.

She had some stickers with the name Aggie on the tank so im assumeing that was her nick name!Text

Surely NSJ would be an age related number (issued to the Isle of Bute but not used) - were ARNs about 18 years ago? Did Matchless make a trials bike before the war? I always thought young lads like Ken converted road bikes. The one Monty Banks converted for trials use just before the war came to light recently - couldn't be that one could it?

Yes Dick, I did indeed convert one of these, I will not bore you with some of the tricks that used to get played with log books inthe good old days

Yeah NSJ isnt the orignal number and yes it is a converted bike the tank has been modified so the bars come round more of an angle the foot rests have been moved and the gear lever is reversed!

I reckon this has been assembled from assorted bits not that long ago to ride in pre-65 trials. There are several like this on the pre-65 trials scene and few, if any, are genuine. It looks very similar to the one Brian Clark was campaigning until a few seasons back.
