What's the general opinion on a preferred carb on a TCS. Original should be a 1 3/8th'' T5GP but I don't want to use one because of the problems of using them on the road - bad starting, no tickover etc. Anyone experience of a Mk1 Concentric - 34mm presumably or a Smoothbore and jets/settings to suit.

I used a Mk1 concentric on my classic racer with 1959 18CS engine, with no problems at all. This used an open pipe, no silencer at all, and went quite well with SH cams.
