Hi all,
Just finished exchanging the rear light on my 1947 G3L from an LS 564 type to a MT 211 type ( same as MT 110 but with brake light ). I wanted to have the correct rear lamp fitted. Must say, very pleased with quality of the new lamp purchased from the club shop. I was amazed how dim the actual light emitted was! I know it’s only 3W. Checked manual again and confirmed 3 W bulb. Is this due to it still being to a war time specification? Brake light comes on nice and bright but I wouldn’t like to rely on anyone seeing the rear light alone.
Just as well the wife doesn’t let me out at night!
Looking forward to the better weather to get out and about on the bike, winter going on too long up here in North Yorkshire!
Cheers to all,
Steve

Re: Bit dim!
Hi Dave,
I’d probably do that if I ever envisaged going out on anything other than a bright, sunny day. Fair weather motorcyclists, I’ll put my hands up ! If that changes I’ll make the swap, they’re cheap enough, I already looked on fleabay prior to fitting the blinding 3W bulb. Although, I couldn’t find an LED that acted both as a rear and stop lamp? Only fitment for one bulb in lamp holder.
Cheers,
Steve
