Carb alignment with hole in seat tube

If you look at a twin engine head steady you will notice that it is not symmetrical but is off set to one side, this means that the barrels and heads are not evenly spaced around the centreline of the frame leading to the carburettor being offset slightly too.

Could it be possible for it to be fitted the wrong way round ?

Only if the whole engine was offset in the frame so not very probable.

Had a quick look this morning and the heads are offset to the right, the head steadies are two links though and are clamped to the front down tube as if they’re added after manufacture. Not really noticed that before.
I’ve got the manifold machining done today so hopefully might be able to get a hose connected through the frame hole

Couldn’t really go any more on head side but managed 2mm taper on both head and carb faces
