Grease Yes or No that is the question

Hi there,

I am re-assembling the B52 gearbox of a G3LS ´53 and I wonder whether I should grease the parts which are not turning/moving with high speed like the parts of the kick-starter, the parts of the cam assembly 018337 etc. Some parts are far above the oil level and I am not sure they will be touched by oil. If grease is needed will they not be dissolved by the oil?

Just oil them upon assembly. There's a certain amount of oil migration and splash when in use.
Those parts have never been dry when I've examined or removed them.

FYI you can buy some stuff called "Lucas Oil 10152 Assembley Lube". It is a tacky oil which I found handy for assembling some parts, also nice to know there is lube there until the oil can get there.

Before putting it all back together, you might want to replace the clutch lifter rod plunger it's shagged out where the ball bearing has worn the end.

Thnks Jackstringer, I intended to use molykote rapid plus paste, I think this is similar to the one you mentioned.

Thnks ajscomboman, I have ordered that part, the ball bearings and the fixed plate, the other plate wasn´t available anymore. I will check how this will work together.
