Steering lock - Tempest 125

This area is for discussion/information on the "modern" AJS motorcycles manufactured in China from 2006 onwards.

Steering lock - Tempest 125

Post by Aitch868 »

My AJS Tempest 125cc was recently stolen but has been recovered. It appears the only issue was a smashed up ignition switch and spray paint on the reg plate. These issues have now been resolved.

However, my steering lock does not seem to be working. Does anyone have any images close up of the steering head where it should lock, I can't find anything online to compare to. Being cautious on riding until I know the bike is in fully working order.

Greatly appreciated!

The steering lock won't stop the bike working. I would invest in more security so the bike can be fastened to something

You'd be better off with a lock and chain.

That's what I was thinking. A steering lock risks damaging the headstock when someone tries to nick your bike. A good chain fastened to an immovable object and an alarm are better alternatives like Dave says. I have an alarmed disk lock and front brake clamp.
