I'm still trying to sort out registered keeper with DVLA, over 6 months now!!!!
Anyway I'm just checking through the bike as best I can and so far replaced the ignition switch the coil and the clutch plates with the pressure plate.
Now starting on the gear box which to me appears to have no oil in it even though the handbook says 3 pints. Instead large amount of old fashion pale brown grease. The previous owner wanted to export the bike to Italy, filled in the paperwork, and then changed his mind. Unfortunately he did not tell the DVLA which is the source of my registration problem. Is the grease some sort of preparation for the export journey. I can see that the carrier would not want operating fluids in the bike while transporting.
Any one have any idea about this and more to the point how do I get the grease out without stripping gearbox?
Many thanks
