AJS & Matchless Owners Club

Hi All, I have just recently purchased my first Matchless, 1958 G80s and joined the club. Unfortunately the battery has been removed from the box. As far as I can tell all is still set up for a 6v battery and I'm looking for a recommendation for the best battery to buy and ideas of where to get it, I'm in Brentwood in Essex. Im happy with a modern part that's functional rather than looking original, I can worry about the look later when everything else is running. Thanks for your help. Paul

Search out a 6N11A-1B or equivalent and if you are still using the original charging circuit steer clear of AGM types as they don't cope too well when the charge rate is high.
