On Ebay at the moment for £6500, the seller says this G80 is fitted with a 'more comfortable seat'. I think it's probably the worst seat I have ever seen! I hope he / she doesn't read this!

That's a good one
Ribbed mudguards, (rear held on with shed studding) and Wipac rear light - very 66 I'm sure - must be the rest of the bike that's original.

The ribbed mudguards are correct for '63-on.

I'll get my coat
So it's a bargain
Is the kick start rare?

Wouldn't say it's a bargain but the late short stroke 500's do command much more money than standard longstrokes, especially as they can be easily converted to alloy comp barrel as the picture shows. Hideous seat though

Wonder if the seat is comfortable for the pillion passenger, with rear fixing having the bolt threaded end poking out. I know 55 had nice flat rounded screws. If this model should have hex head bolts, I would have thought they would be fitted so the head was outside. Don't like the looks of that seat either.

Being of the tall variety, I have to say that the standard '55 seat is ... sparse, especially when trying to take a pillion. The shouts from behind were fear of falling off the back of the saddle.. Perhaps the bloke who tried fitting a King/Queen seat on mine in the '70s had the right idea..

Whatever we think of the aesthetics, it does look very comfortable!
