Not selecting 1st gear

Help I replaced the kickstart shaft oil seal Now after putting it back together I cannot select the gears properly Have I not alligned something correctly :headbang:

Was my previous response re noise in 2nd and 3rd of any assistance?
Following the manual often helps in these situations.

Did you index the gearchange quadrant, the top of the knuckle should just line up with the adjacent top right hand inner cover stud?

Having the same trouble, though yet to be bothered to put it right as riding is still doable albeit more attention needed in the gear selection department.

Couldn't make out what the manual was getting at, some fellow members helped explain where I went wrong.

Most likely is either the pawl moved when the case went back on, or the quadrant wasn't indexed properly.
