Fork Stud Broken!

So I finally got the two "yokes" off the bottom of the front forks after a lot of effort but unfortunately one of the studs has broken off and is firmly stuck in one side of one of the yokes. Any suggestions of how I get this fixed gratefully received!!

Hi

Soak the yoke in penetrating fluid overnight, (I use a 50/50 mix of acetone and ATF).

Drill a 3/8" hole in a bit of hard wood or metal.

Heat the yoke with a paint stripping gun or similar.

Using gloves place the yoke in a vice with the 3/8" hole as a clearance on the stud and press the stud through with the vice. Don't worry if it's still tight, just re-lubricate and press it back and forth until it is loose enough to remove.

Regards Mick

If there's anything to grab onto these work great: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002FCJCVE Don't cheap out on that tool, avoid the China specials for this type of tool.

If no stud is protruding and it's flat you can try a left hand drill, if it's not flat or you don't have a drill press or better, a mill you might consider having your local machinest remove it.

In any case, heat and penetrating oil are your friends in this case.
