Eyelets in the correct place to take 1/4 screw.

There is a stitches band across the middle. I'm relating to circa 1955. I have had a new cover in the shed for decades. I do believe for the slightly longer seat than the 1955 type.

I sent my old seat pan to R.K. Leighton. They welded up a crack, blasted and powder coated it then re-upholstered it with new foam and cover. It came back looking superb and fitted correctly.

Why not get a new seat cover from Leightons and recover it?

I don't know your budget or the shipping rates across the pond, but I can confirm from personal experience R K Leighton will restore it to as near as new condition - you won't be disappointed if you send it to them.

Haha, yes, the foam or whatever it's become is leaking out of all the holes at the moment. I could send it over there and have them do it, but I'm not looking for "new" I'm looking for vintage and correct =). Clearly whoever had this machine couldn't care less about the seat cover as it appears it was done DIY.

I recall at one point seeing a diagram describing the seat shape, and features, but can't seem to find it now. I'm going to try and see if the local shop here (who I've used for other projects) has any old black Rexine. My goal isn't to create a new seat, just one that fits the current bike well (both function and look) with as close to correct materials as possible, including any straps, piping, etc. that should be there.
