What one of you clever chaps out there can help explain and tell me exactly how to diagnose Piston Slap on a twin?

Low revs, full advance, roll on the throttle = audible piston slap
Close off throttle/retard ignition, noise generally stops.
The "slap" is the piston moving from the front face of bore, after compression stroke, and slapping against rear thrust face of cylinder upon combustion.
